A Swiss trail and endurance boot with overlapping length bands, so a hoof near a band edge can take either of two sizes. It sizes on length first with a fairly narrow width window, suiting an oval hoof.
Width is measured across the widest point of the hoof on the ground surface. Length is measured from the toe to the buttress line at the back of the heel, not including the heel bulbs. Measure within two weeks of a fresh trim.
The Galoppers bands overlap by design, so two sizes will often both list your length. Break the tie on width: the narrower boot for a longer-than-wide hoof, the larger for a round one.
