This directory lists 1099 riding schools, stables and equestrian centres across 43 areas of the United Kingdom, grouped by county-sized region. Each area page names the venues recorded there.

The records come from OpenStreetMap, the open map of the world. Because it is community-mapped, coverage is fuller in some areas than others, and details should be confirmed with the venue.

What the venues are

A riding school teaches riders and often hires horses; a livery yard keeps owners' horses; an equestrian centre may do both and host competitions. OpenStreetMap groups them under riding and equestrian tags, which is how they are gathered here.

Farriers, who trim and shoe horses, are counted separately on each area page where they are mapped.

The areas with the most recorded venues are Greater London (69), Kent (52), Berkshire and Surrey (46), Merseyside and Cheshire (42), Sussex (41), Central Scotland (39), Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire (38), Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire (37), Devon (36) and Greater Manchester (35). Each area page lists the venues recorded there and, where a venue has enough detail mapped, links through to a page with its address and contact details. The listings are a starting point for finding a yard, not a substitute for contacting it.

Because the underlying map is maintained by volunteers, a favourite local yard may not yet appear, and details can change. Always confirm lessons, livery and opening arrangements with the venue itself.
